Facial Trauma

Facial trauma is very common in the United States – more than 3 million cases per year! Most commonly, facial trauma occurs in the setting of motor vehicle accidents, accidental falls, sports injuries, interpersonal violence, and work-related injuries. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are trained, skilled and uniquely qualified to manage and treat traumatic injuries to the face, including:

  • Facial lacerations
  • Intraoral lacerations
  • Facial bone fractures
  • Jaw fractures
  • Injuries to the teeth and surrounding dental structures

Injuries to the face, by their very nature, impart a high degree of emotional, as well as physical trauma to patients. The science and art of treating these injuries requires years of specialized training and experience to achieve the expertise necessary for successful outcomes in function and appearance.

Dr. Weber and Dr. Shepherd are experts in their field, and are extensively trained in the management of both hard and soft tissue facial injuries in adults and children. If you or your loved one has experienced facial trauma, please call us so that we may see you and start your treatment as soon as possible.
