Casey Shepherd DMD MD
Dr. Casey Shepherd was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. He attended Weber State University for his undergraduate education where he studied chemistry, mathematics, and physics. He was married to his wife Britney in 2006 and moved shortly thereafter to Las Vegas,
Nevada for his four-year dental school training at UNLV School of Dental Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Shepherd graduated Valedictorian Summa Cum Laude as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and was, amongst other honors, inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Following his dental studies, he entered a six-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. During his residency, he attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and was awarded his medical degree, Doctor of Medicine (MD), in 2013. He then completed a one-year internship in General Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2014 and served as Chief Resident of the oral surgery department for one year prior to completion of his residency in 2016.
Dr. Shepherd is a dual-degree oral surgeon trained in full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He has done several mission trips to locations around the globe (Mali, Dominican Republic, and Colombia) and volunteers locally at the Shepherd’s Hand Dental Clinic on a regular basis. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shepherd has also authored a textbook chapter on office-based anesthesia which was published in 2017.
Dr. Shepherd is a passionate fly-fisherman, and loves to cook and play the piano for his wife Britney and his two little girls, Gabbi and Mia. He is proud to be part of the Kalispell Oral Surgery team, and equally proud to have settled in the great state of Montana – the last best place.
